Calories in vs. Calories out… Is it that simple?


I measured and calculated to the best of my ability every calorie I took in for the past week and let my activity tracker do the same for calories burned for each day.

Here are the nice little totals they emailed me after a week using the activity tracker.

13465 cals eaten
-7000 plan deficit


So I was really in a deficit to my plan of taking in 1000 calories less than I burned each day.

I lost, according to the tracker scale I also purchased, 6.5 pounds and dropped 1% of body fat as well.

Week 2 is underway and involves some traveling and the joy of keeping my 8 year old entertained! It can only mean more calories burned than I am taking in… Right? We shall see.
